Who is Elevate Homes?
We have a regional office in Nothern California and a regional office in Southern California. We are an environmentally concerned organization that attempts to minimize our carbon footprint. This is not about global warming as much as being environmentally responsible. Frankly, it is also more economical for our clients, agents and vendors. Instead of commuting to an offfice, we encoiurage our agents to work at home. Instead of keeping huge latteral files with tree-killing paper documents, we require our agents to maintain their files electronically in PDF format.
Every real estate transaction is different, but the dangers involved in a real estate transaction are surprisingly similar. In the over 50 years combined real estate experience of the principals in Elevate, there are few things they have not directly experienced. Elevate's Broker, Steve Sanders, has been a residential and commercial agent since 1988, a mortgage lender and a Regional Vice President for a large international commercial bank. Kat Sanders, the Managing Principal, has been involved in real estate since 1993. Her real estate experience includes management of one of the largest real estate offices (250 agents) in California. But their experience is only part of what makes Elevate great.
Elevate philosophies and practices best match the real estate trends of today and tomorrow. National Association of Realtors statistics show that people choose realtors with whom they want to do business, not companies. This only stands to reason. People do business with people they know and trust, not faceless unknown entites. For that reason Elevate Homes Realty is agent and client centric. It is unlikely that there will be an Elevate Homes Superbowl ad or Elevate blimp. Corporate money, time and effort is spent making agents better, and serving our clients, not in making Elevate Homes Realty look better.
Technology is always changing and the real estate industry must change with it. Unfortunately most real estate practices, though good in their time, are going the way of the buggy whip. Today's real estate clients are more sophisticated and knowledgeable. The resources available to them, like the internet, were not even available years ago and yet real estate practice has been slow to react.
Agents should know more about standard real estate contracts, disclosures, pitfalls and legal ramifications of real estate transactions than their clients. Kat and Steve Sanders are both Certified Forms (contract) trainers for the California Association of Realtors. Few agents are and knowingthe contract is critical. We save money for clients simply by knowing how to best writ the contract.
Clients today, through research on the net or elsewhere, often know more about the neighborhoods, communities, or even the specific type of home they want, than the agent they eventually hire. Elevate trains its agents to listen and be more professional and knowledgeable.
Agents are like captains of a ship. They must consult with, teach and steer clients away from trouble, but should seldom, if ever, choose the direction or goal for them. Agents may assist, but will never have to reside in or live with the ultimate real estate decision. Clients MUST make the decisions affecting their quality of life, and should be well enough equipped by their agent to make the right choices for themselves.
How does awareness help the real estate client? The more an agent or company knows, the more resources they have to draw upon, the more adaptive they are to changing technology, the better the client transaction and decision will be.
